Money B of Digital Underground is making some noise as a solo artist. He has two hot singles that have been creating a stir here in the Bay. Most notable is a cut called 'Eyez On A Mill Ticket.' It's a song dedicated to 2Pac where Money B along with fellow Bay artist Clee and King San of the Whoridas drop some heartfelt lyrics about all those folks who have imitated and misrepresented 2Pac. Although no one is directly named a quick listen to the lyrics shows some of the disdain directed at DMX and Master P among others. Money explained that there are a number of people who never even knew Pac yet they've made a career imitating his style and evoking his name via album dedications. As Money B stated in one of his lyrics, if your down with Pac send his mom some money.

The DMX reference is obvious when he spits a verse about 'the second coming'. There are a number of other artists who are taken to task, but you have to listen to the album to pick up the clues. Money although serious chose to to be clever in terms of word play. The other night we held a contest to see who are all the artist Money B is referring to in the song. Many people thought that Noreaga was on the dis list because there's a line about people being 'super thugs'. However, Money cleared the air and noted that Pac and Nore would've probably been friends. Others thought there were references to Jay Z and Yukmouth of the Luniz. Money encouraged people to listen to the song and bluntly stated "those who are offended by this track then it was probably meant for you".For those who don't know Money B and 2Pac were good friends.

As Money gets ready to drop his new album 'Talkin' Dirty', the self proclaimed 'Freak Deaky' is hosting a 'Freaks Of the Industry Photo Contest'. He's already collected quite a few pictures..Send your freaky pictures and comments to mailto:moneyb@moneyb.com or visit his site at http://www.moneyb.com to hear MP3s tracks off his new album. As for Money being a solo artist, I'm hearing word that Shock G may be retiring from the mic and just sticking to producing. That may be hard to do-Once an emcee always an emcee.
